Steve Kerber is a fire protection engineer in the Fire Research Division of the Building and Fire Research Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Steve has conducted research in the areas of large fire measurements, computer modeling and fire fighter safety and tactics.

Mr. Kerber received his bachelor’s degree in 2003 and his master’s degree in 2005 both in fire protection engineering from the University of Maryland.

Steve also is the Deputy Chief and Training Officer with the College Park Volunteer Fire Department in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

He is a member of the NFPA, SFPE and IAFC.
