Dan Madrzykowski is a fire protection engineer, in the Fire Research Division of the Building and Fire Research Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  Dan has conducted research in the areas of fire suppression, large fire measurements, fire investigation and fire fighter safety. 

 Mr. Madrzykowski has a Masters of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland.  He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).  Dan was recently nominated to the position of Fellow in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).  Dan chairs the IAAI Engineering Committee.
